Vedic Story
This story is about the desire of Prajapathi for his daughter Usha. Usha means night. In this version of the story, Prajapathi and Usha take the animal form to reduce the act at an animal level. Usha became a red deer, and Prajapathi became a buck and went on top of her.
To Rudra, it seemed misbehavior, so Rudhra turned around to Prajapathi with an arrow and aimed at him. The alarmed creator tried to stop Rudhra but failed. The Prajapathi was afraid of Rudhra. He said I would make you the lord of cattle or Pashupati, so do not shoot at me. Rudhra aimed at Prajapathi and pierced him. Due to this, the Prajapathi cried, and therefore Shiva is also called Rudhra. The purpose of Prajapathi’s seduction was the expansion of his creation. We will learn more about this in an indicative meaning section of this Nakshathra.
